Vivari: Modern Ambiance with Room for Improvement (Honest Review)

Hola fellow Barcelona explorers! Searching for a quick bite with a modern atmosphere? Vivari, located at Pg. de Maragall, 243, Horta-Guinardó, 08032 Barcelona, Spain, might seem like a tempting option. However, based on my recent visit, there are some key areas for improvement before I can wholeheartedly recommend it. In this review, I’ll delve into the restaurant’s ambiance, service, and food quality.

Vivari: A Modern Look, But is it Enough?

Vivari boasts a clean and modern dining space. It presents a trendy atmosphere that might initially catch your eye. However, aesthetics can only go so far.

Why Not a Full Recommendation?

While the ambiance has potential, here’s what fell short during my visit:

  • Subpar Service: Unfortunately, the service at Vivari was poor. This is a crucial aspect of any dining experience, and it fell flat.
  • Questionable Food Quality: The freshness of the food was a major concern. My order, an empanada and a slice of pizza, was served at room temperature despite being reheated. For the price (€6.65!), the quality simply wasn’t there.

A 2 out of 5 Star Experience

While the modern decor has some appeal, the poor service and questionable food quality bring Vivari’s rating down to a 2 out of 5 stars. There are better options available for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.

Looking for Alternatives?

Barcelona offers a vast array of cafes and restaurants. If you’re seeking a modern atmosphere, consider exploring the Poblenou: /barcelona/poblenou or Eixample: /barcelona/eixample districts. For a guaranteed delicious bite, explore the many tapas bars scattered throughout the city.

Final Thoughts

Vivari has the potential to be a good spot, but based on my experience, it needs to improve its service and ensure fresh, high-quality food. Until then, I recommend exploring other options for a more enjoyable dining experience in Barcelona.
